Delaware Launches Online Gambling Site

On October 31, Delaware became the second American state to offer online gambling to its residents after Nevada, and the first state to launch an online casino which will offer a full internet gambling solution. This new endeavor is an effort to increase gaming revenues collected from an industry which is seriously threatened by competition from neighboring states. The site will not be opened for the public during its first week of operation, but by November 8, all legal-aged Delaware residents will be able to play online slots, poker, roulette or blackjack at Delaware gaming and betting sites. So far, residents of the state were permitted to play games for fun and will be able to continue doing so until the site is publicly launched.
During the first week after the casino is opened, up to 75 players who previously created online accounts at Delaware’s racetrack gaming websites will have the opportunity to play online gambling games and test the system. By introducing online casinos, the government and the casino software providers who were responsible for supplying the games hope to attract a different category of consumers, meaning that online gambling will be embraced by individuals aged 28 to 35 years old, a completely different age group in comparison to the average gambler, which is seen as a 50-year-old person.
