The Netherlands are currently revising their regulatory legislations in order to provide better results regarding fighting against gambling addiction, preventing criminal acts and illegal gaming and betting activities, while also protecting consumers. The European country revealed new online gambling draft legislations in May 2013, with the intention of legalizing all kinds of internet gaming and betting solutions by 2015. It is stated in the draft regulation that operators will have to pay a 20 percent tax on gross gaming revenues.
The bill also proposed the privatization of the sole brick-and-mortar casino in the country, which reported a €652,000 drop in revenues last year.
