Indian Gaming Commission Could Be Formed In the Near Term
Gambling operators and casino software companies might like to know that an Indian Gaming Commission is expected to be formed soon. The new regulatory body would be similar to the Nevada Gaming Commission, and would oversee live gambling activity that would take place in Goa, the only state in India to allow live gaming halls. According to Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar, the rules for the gaming commission are in the process of being framed, and would be presented after the implementation is finalized.
Casino software companies and gaming entrepreneurs should know that the framing for casino policy in Goa would be done by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Indian Gaming Commission would monitor gaming businesses in a similar way that the Nevada Gaming Commission controls casinos in Las Vegas. Like so, the Commission would regulate Goa’s five international casinos and the local casinos constructed on the coastline. The regulatory body would also overlook the percentage that live casinos can make out of players and would implement a grievance redress mechanism, through which complaints would be resolved.
Gambling firms and casino software companies should be aware of the fact that the Goa government intends to ask casino vessels to not run activities in the Mandovi River area, due to unsafe fishing and bathing. More than that, licenses for companies that do not move out of this area would be deprived of the possibility to renew their licenses.
