Nevada Online Poker Tax Rates are Generous
While taking a look at some of the information that was gathered by “Casinowebscripts” it became very apparent that Nevada has some of the cheapest online casino tax rates around.
Their current tax rate for online casinos is only 6.75 percent and that doesn’t even include the money that is drawn in from people entering into online tournaments. They are working on changing the law so that they can tax online tournaments though, it just hasn’t happened yet.
New Jersey is going to be charging a 15% tax to online casinos when they start running them and they probably won’t let the casinos get away with a tax-free tournament either.
Other countries make all of these taxes seem relatively mild however. For instance Italy, Denmark and Spain all charge a tax rate of between 20 and 30 percent which is dramatically higher than the less than 7 percent that Nevada is charging.
France is even worse at a tax rate over 40 percent which would be enough to keep most casino developers away from the area if they had a different option.
When you consider the differences in rates between these countries, and Nevada it becomes obvious that it is a pretty desirable place to set up an online casino. Whether or not casino owners from other countries decide that it is a good idea, still remains to be seen depending on how strict the regulations involved are compared to other countries, but they are off to a good start with the taxes.
