The residents of Pretoria have vehemently opposed the plans of a new casino facility. The residents have formed an action group and they are planning to take a legal advice on the same. The plans for the new casino are grand as it includes a model similar to Grandwest in Cape Town. There will be a concert hall that can seat almost 800 people and there are going to be high end restaurants and shops as well.
One of the major concerns has to be the fact that the entire planning has been proposed right next to a school as there are only a few band of tress that will be separating both the buildings. Further, the fact that alcohol will be freely available is another pressing matter of concern for the local residents.
There is going to be a change of gambling license for the casino company after it decided to close the Marula casino owing to losses. The residents have voiced their complain stating that the specifics in the plan that was presented earlier had no mention of casino as there was only theater and hotel that were mentioned.
Graeme Stephens, the chief executive of Sun casino was quick to point about how the casino would help in creating a lot of employment opportunities and generate better revenue for the place. Even if a physical casino is not present, there are so many online casino script providers available that accessing casinos is not an extremely tricky affair anymore.
So, he is of the opinion that this new plan has more pros than cons and the residents should support it rather than oppose it.
