September Casino Results for Maryland and Ohio
The recent report from CasinoWebScripts, the top gaming providers that creates complete solutions for operators who seek to buy online casino software, mentions that Maryland land based casinos have still proved to be at the top of their game, while Ohio has started to go on a downward slide in September 2013. Maryland gambling establishments attracted visitors who spent no less than $65 million, this figure being 45 percent higher than the one generated in September 2012. Maryland Live! collected $50.4 million of the total Maryland gross gaming revenue, the new poker room raking in $2.3 million from gaming enthusiasts. September was the fourth consecutive month when Maryland casinos generated gross gaming revenue of over $50 million, despite the fact that this month’s results were 10 percent smaller than the ones collected in August.
Ohio on the other hand is not so popular among gamblers, analysts saying that casino revenues for the previous month did not even come close to those which were initially expected. Local media reports that Ohio gambling establishments have generated around $900 million per year, while analysts predicted that they would rake in an additional $220 million. These figures might seem impressive for other American states which offer gambling opportunities, but experts say that the predicted revenues were appropriate for the size of Ohio’s brick-and-mortar casino industry. Gaming insiders said that Hollywood Casino Columbus was responsible for these results, for this gambling establishment only collected $223 million when it was expected to generate a little over $382 million. Unfortunately for Ohio land based gaming operators, there is no insurance that this situation will change in the near term.
