Spain is Going to Turn into a Major Gambling Hub
To say that the new casino project in Madrid Spain is going to be a massive undertaking is an understatement. The project that is going to cost over 10 billion euros is going to become the largest conference center and casino hub in all of Europe.
The construction project is being funded by the Las Vegas Sands corporation and they are putting nearly 4 billion euros of their own money on the line. On top of the 4 billion that they are coming up with, they have secured additional funding to put them over top of the total 9.8 billion euros that they need just to get the project started.
The first phase of the project is the construction of over 12,000 hotel rooms in four separate resorts that are each attached to casinos. The site is going to cover over three square miles in all, with a massive 72 story hotel in the center of the new casino city.
By the end of the project there will be a complete casino solution that is made of several different casino facilities and 12 different resorts which should create around 36,000 hotel rooms in all for visitors to stay in on a regular basis. The sheer scale of the casino is going to be breathtaking, but the project is not due to open up until 2017 at the earliest.
