The Opinion of UK Lawmakers on Betting Shops
Several UK politicians have expressed their opposition regarding the high street betting shops which are currently not banned in the country, especially since the government announced earlier this month that they will not ask operators to close their betting parlors, thus allowing them to run their businesses in a legal manner. Lawmakers decided that they will not restrict fixed odds betting terminals in these shops, action which led to a 3 percent increase in the number of parlors around the country.
There have been several complaints in regard to the expansion of betting shops in the UK, politician Roberta Blackman-Woods explained she is not content with the presence of so many high street betting parlors in the country and that she will contest the decision of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat party. In addition, she will lead calls to lower the number of shops that might soon open.
Despite the fact that the popularity of UK online gambling is constantly increasing, as more and more gaming software providers are creating solutions for UK operators, it seems that high street betting shops are continuing to attract a significant number of gambling enthusiasts around this country which offers one of the most lucrative and properly developed gaming and betting markets in the world.
