The US Federal Government May Consider an Online Poker Bill
The iGaming North America Conference was a time to gain information on the online casino industry as a whole. During the conference Frank Fahrenkopf, the leader of the American Gaming Association let slip some very interesting information about the online poker industry in the United States.
Fahrenkopf stated that there may be an online poker bill going through the House of Representatives in the near future. He stated that Joe Barton was likely to be the representative who would bring up the bill and get it to be considered.
Whether or not the bill would stand a chance of being passed into being is very hard to say. There are plenty of supporters for an online gaming solution in the country, and all of the state legislation may help convince the federal government that laws need to be put in place to regulate everyone.
After all, without the guidance of the federal government, the states are free to do what they wish concerning online poker. If they step up and take the lead on the matter, many other states are likely to follow behind them, and that will reduce the legal disparity throughout the country.
