Delaware Prepares to Launch First Online Casino
Delaware lottery director Vernon Kirk explained earlier this week that lottery officials will start the state’s first online gambling site in a discrete manner and are now preparing to take care of the last details before a selected group of players will become the first to gamble at the online gaming site. Kirk said that they will not reveal the names of the preferred players, or how they were chosen. Furthermore, the number of players in the selected group will also be kept confidential.
Delaware’s online gambling site is set to be launched on October 31, after various tests in regard to all the systems. Thus, Delaware will become the second American state after Nevada to legalize internet gaming and betting. At this point in time, Nevada only offers an online poker site, while Kirk said that Delaware will start an online casino with both slot machines and poker during the first phase. Despite the fact that this American state will only provide two types of casino games for now, the most significant aspect is for the launch to go smoothly and without any unfortunate events.
When it comes to creating compacts with the other two states which already legalized online gambling, Delaware has not taken any decisions yet, but gaming insiders expect that in the near future several agreements will come to fruition.
