Maryland Casinos Bring In Record Revenues in August

Despite the fact that not all American states are receiving the expected outcome from the gaming and betting industry, Maryland is proving to be one of the regions where punters enjoy trying their luck at land based gambling establishments. Recent figures released by the State lottery and Gaming Control Agency have revealed that the Old Line State’s four casinos have managed to rake in a whopping revenue of $71 million in August 2013 and succeeded in surpassing its former record revenue of $69.3 million generated in July.
Analysts have unveiled that the state’s largest casino, Maryland Live!, was the one to get the biggest piece of the pie, raking in no less than $53 million, more than three-fourths of Maryland’s August gaming and betting revenue. The casino was also in its fourth month in which it exceeded $50 million. Maryland Live! casino visitors have shown that they preference goes to slot machines, revenues generated by these apparatuses reaching $35.5 million last month, while table games accounted for $17.4 million.
In addition, Maryland Live! has seen such success due to its new poker room, which brought in more than $350,000 during its three and a half days of operation.
