Vietnam Officials Discuss Gambling Legalization
The Vietnam National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee has recently declared that a new draft bill which will legalize gambling has been proposed by the Ministry of Finance. The new draft decree will mainly focus on the legalization of money betting on sports games, horse races and dog races. The draft presents a series of aspects regarding how these betting activities will be regulated.
Punters will be allowed to wager starting with the minimum amount of VND 10,000 (50 US cents) per each time they bet and a maximum of VND 1 million (50$) per day. Regulators might take consider revising this proposal and raising the daily limit to more than 1 million Vietnamese dong so that it would meet real demand. Furthermore, pro-gambling lawmakers are saying that if the system is regulated too strictly, illegal gambling activities might occur.
The draft also explains that Vietnamese residents who are caught wagering in casinos will be fined with VND 200 million ($10,000), while all punters who bet on sports games, horse races or dog races need to be at least 18 years old. At this point in time, Vietnam offers casino services to foreign customers, while no Vietnamese people are allowed to gamble inside these establishments. CasinoWebScripts has made available a lot of cheap casino solutions for online casinos which can be opened in any country, including Vietnam.
